Effin G.A.A Gathering:

Effin G.A.A club would like to announce that a gathering festival will be held on the weekend of October 25th to 28th. Full programme will be in next week’s notes so watch this space.  As part of the weekend it is proposed to hold a photographic exhibition which will look back on all parish activities over the past decades. Anybody with photos of interest please contact Karen Collins on 087-8298938 for further details. All photos will be returned after the conclusion of the exhibition.


The club would like to encourage all friends and supporters to come along to Kilmallock on next Sunday and support the senior hurlers in the big game versus Bruree, Whilst the prize for winning is a place in the Co Cup semi final, defeat will see the loser drop down to the new premier intermediate grade for 2014. So all to play for.  Come along and support the boys in green.

Best wishes to P.J.Herr and David Barrett who will represent the club on the Limerick U-14 Hurling panels which will be taking part in the Tony Forristal / Sonny Walsh intercounty competitions in Waterford this coming weekend.  David is with the Sonny Walsh panel and they will be competing against Kilkenny and Wexford.  First game v Kilkenny at 11.30a.m in Erin’s Own, pitch, Polebarry, with the second game v Wexford  timed for 1.00p.m, at the same venue.

P.J.Herr is with the Forristal panel, and they  will play their games in Mt Sion. First game at 12.30p.m. v Waterford, followed by the second game v Clare at 2.10p.m.

To the Quaid family, Ballyhaght, on the selection of the late Tommy on the GAA team of the  80’s which was announced last week.  The team will be oresented prior to the All Ireland senior hurling final on Sept 8th.
